Devin Jakob Trakney, Architectural Designer
For Devin Trakney, architecture is about building a narrative that connects people and places. He sees his work as an agent of positive change, and is passionate about applied design that prioritizes the wellbeing of users. Devin credits his father, a contractor, with reinforcing his early interest in construction and design.
Devin excels both as a leader and creative. A graduate of Temple University, he completed his BS and Masters degrees in Architecture while leading the university’s Architecture Lobby Organization as vice president and earning a certification in photography. Devin is also interested in psychology, and spent his last year of college researching the relationships between nature, architecture, and wellness. “I think the greatest way to improve our cities is by designing with the user in mind,” says Devin. “And by realizing that design can create a lasting impact even when our work is done.”
Devin’s work is defined by a holistic approach and an excellent understanding of complex relationships and technical details. Thanks to his diverse interests and skills, Devin plays a key role at M Architects + M Design, where he works closely with both project teams and the firm’s partners. In his role, Devin is involved in a wide range of projects, including technical detailing work, construction administration, and project delivery—ensuring harmony between original design intent and final products.
Devin’s photography experience is also a highlight of his work at M Architects + M Design, where he plays a crucial role in documenting the studio’s design process and final projects. With his keen eye for detail, Devin captures the unique craftsmanship and user experience of each project. In his free time Devin likes to explore the city and photograph whatever else catches his eye.
