Charged with creating a brand standard for the Rittenhouse Square location of Plenty Café, Morrissey Design and M Architects turned to time worn finishes, reclaimed materials and classic styling with an updated twist to bring this neighborhood gem to life. Operable windows open the interior to the street and energize the pedestrian-friendly location. A mezzanine space was recaptured to create 200 additional square-feet of varied seating. Reclaimed wide-plank wood floors and timber beams are accented by blackened metal stair rails, copper counters, a tin ceiling and antique mirrors. Playful juxtapositions such as a combination of subway tiles, hot-rolled metal sheathing and floral wallpaper in the restroom keep the interior feeling timeless yet contemporary.
