This comprehensive renovation is one of our favorite projects since Morrissey Design and M Architects were launched in 2010. We converted their standard kitchen into an open design and created a satellite bar adjacent to the businesses’ floor-to-ceiling folding windows, which provided the operation with a street presence that was missing from the previous incarnation.
We redesigned the original main bar and back bar, which includes a video wall and room for 40 taps. We lowered the booth backs and created communal tables to evoke a more lively and unified overall design, which contributes to the business being more social and lively.
We introduced Prohibition-era photographs, antique mirrors, raw metal, Edison Bulb lighting, a belt fan that spans the entire dining room and chalkboards which compliment the raw and natural materials which define the City Tap House aesthetic.
